Come spend some time with me in the park . . . checkout out to vendors, entertainment and more. It’s not much, but it’s pretty decent for the small town of Chatham-Kent. I would love to hear how you spend your Canada Day or your national holiday in the comments below. Happy Canada Day!

Handi Mandi TV – Super Thrift Shopathon: Collective Haul Outfits
I want to start off my thanking my wonderfully patient mother who took the time to take all these pictures for this weeks episode. Secondly, I apologize for the low quality of the pics as I had to use two programs and neither of which were Photoshop, unfortunately.
The day after coming back from shopping in the States (Chesterfield), I went shopping at the Value VIllage 50% Off Super Sale. Here’s all my tips and tricks to preparing yourself for your Super Thrift Shopathon: Appropriate Attire, Resources to Keep on Hand or on the Brain and Nourishment. Happy Bargain-Hunting!
*Please note that some of the garments did not have tags indicating the brands and everything is under $10 per piece of clothing with the exception of where I’ve indicated as such in the picture caption*

I recently went shopping to the States, USA, specifically to Chesterfield MI. I haven’t been to the states in about a year, my last trip was to NYC for fabric shopping for our final graduate collections. So here I share a couple videos about my experience, links referred in the videos are here:
Books, Magazines and Videos Resources
Little excerpt I had to remove from the first video included the fact that American dollar stores, like Dollar Tree, had brand name make-up (Maybelline New York, Almay, E.l.f., NYC, etc) as well as Tylenol and other pharmacy over the counter drugs. Say what?!!!

I recently went shopping down to the States (US) and I’m showing you all the stuff I purchased and I brought back. Lots of bargains and a couple tips on how to get discounts.
This is a little rant, nothing negatively judgmental or anything, but simply asking the much asked question that came up when I went shopping the the States recently and the facts on how you can make purchases in most Canada stores with American currency, but it cannot be said vice-versa. This is my personal experience and opinion, so if you have any comments or know of any stores that do take Canadian currency, debit/interac and/or credit cards, please let me know so I can be the first to compile a list on my blog.

A special thank you for all my birthday wishes from friends and family and a sneak at some of the bargain hunting I did the day before at the mall. Finally, I give you guys a little taste of the design I’ve been working on [second Behance link, illustration called 'Uchben Hatsutsil ("Ancient Beauty" in Mayan) ']
This is where I walk you through all the images that I used for inspiration and give you a look at how my mind works in developing my designs and how I do my research for each fashion illustration that you can find on my Behance portfolio.
Watch me colour my hand-drawn fashion illustration using Laurentien pencil crayons and drawing pens. Learn some of the techniques I use to add definition and depth to the illustration and the techniques to make it stand off the page. Bring your patience and passion, because although it’s a 12-13 minute video it took hours to do. Patience + Passion = Perfection.
I’ve been diagnosed with Malasma
I found out Tuesday, July 19th, 2011 during my doctor’s appointment, that I’ve inherited a skin discolouration from my mother called ‘Malasma’; they are brown spots on the forehead, upper lip in the ‘beard’ area, down the middle of the chest, especially under the belly button, and around the nipples.
It’s more common in women b/c of the estrogen hormone, but less in those on the pill. Less prominent in men, with the exception of one man who was taking a cholesterol medication (and possibly others on the same medications). The discolourations will become more prominent with long sun exposure (ie, tanning) or pregnancy.
The only ‘CURE’ are bleaching creams and pealing agents, because apparently laser surgery will leave scars. Lucky me . . . it’s a good thing my mom’s too cute to be mad, lol
